The Center for Commercialization of Electric Technologies (CCET) is demonstrating new response mechanisms to help integrate large amounts of highly variable wind generation into the ERCOT grid by utilizing better monitoring capabilities, enhanced operator visualization, and improved management. Improved management includes the use of smart grid technologies at Texas facilities: Reese Technology Center in Lubbock, Mueller Development in Austin, the Harmony solar community, north of Houston and residential consumers in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas.

The Department of Energy's Office of Electricity (OE) recognizes that our nation's sustained economic prosperity, quality of life, and global competitiveness depends on an abundance of secure, reliable, and affordable energy resources. OE leads the Department of Energy's efforts to ensure a resilient, and flexible electricity system in the United States. Learn more about OE >>
