The Smart Grid Energy Coalition is establishing a Power Training Campus in response to workforce needs; establishing processes to determine skill objectives and design training; and providing a clear career progression from entry-level hands-on training through the development of basic and specialized skills to the attainment of advanced skills and degrees for higher-level design and management functions. The Coalition will ensure that credits are transferable by executing agreements across training partners. Students, job seekers, academia, and industry participants will integrate through a community/social networking . Training development will occur in a repeated cycle of needs assessment, training design, validation cohort training, and transition of training to production programs. Progress will be measured by monitoring the number and content of the courses developed, cohort response, expansion of Coalition members, and tracking student progress through the networking .
