The University of Colorado is building a graduate engineering program with the capacity to train a large number of students from diverse backgrounds with the skills needed to be leaders in the next generation of Smart Grids. The Digital Energy Program focuses on networking, wireless communication, and cyber security within energy systems. Instruction is provided on-campus and through long distance learning. Students can earn a Masters degree, a five-year joint electrical engineering Bachelors degree and telecommunications Masters degree, or an Energy Communication Networks certificate. Discounts will be granted to students and scholarships will be given based on need or merit. Working with a large network of industry partners ensures that the curriculum is relevant and skills marketable, provides access to additional training opportunities and internships, and assists in job placement. Students will also work with industry and professional associations to increase employment networking.
