U.S. Department of Energys Approach for Conducting Consumer Behavior Studies within the Smart Grid Investment Grant Program

Sept. 30, 2011

U.S. Department of Energy

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOEs) Smart Grid Investment Grant (SGIG) program is working with a subset of SGIG award recipients to examine the response of consumers to variable electricity prices (referred to as time-based rate programs) in conjunction with the deployment of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and associated technologies.

The Department of Energy's Office of Electricity (OE) recognizes that our nation's sustained economic prosperity, quality of life, and global competitiveness depends on an abundance of secure, reliable, and affordable energy resources. OE leads the Department of Energy's efforts to ensure a resilient, and flexible electricity system in the United States. Learn more about OE >>
