Energy management device | 36 | The Vineyard Power Management System (VPMS) is in production and has been accepted. It is a near real time data analytics engine with interfaces to ISO New England and the home gateways that enables Vineyard Power to reduce costs to its customers. The variable information is input to a decision matrix to determine if Vineyard Power, as an aggregate of its customers, should shed load, store energy, or do nothing. The VPMS supports GE Smart appliances and control of non-smart devices (hot water heaters, heat & A/C and water pumps) through monitoring devices and load controllers. For smart appliances, price tier signals are made available for the home gateways. For non-smart appliances the home gateway receives the control commands for the load control devices. The admin portal provides the following functionality: • Dashboard summarizing load, generation and critical alerts of system malfunction • Alerts on status of interfaces o Home gateways calling into the utility web server o ISO New England for 5 min. LMP o Weather forecast services o Renewable generation metering devices • Customer/location information o Serial #’s for gateway, monitoring and control devices o Opt-in service plan • Decision Matrix maintenance • System Reporting | N/A |

* In some circumstances, costs are incurred before devices are installed resulting in a reported cost where the quantity is zero.
* All dollar figures are the total cost, which is the sum of the federal investment and cost share of the recipient (the recipient cost share must be at least 50% of the total overall project cost).
** In some cases the number of entities reporting is greater than the total number of projects funded by the Recovery Act because some projects have multiple sub-projects that report data. View list of sub-projects.
